Child and Adolescent Therapy
In therapy, children and adolescents learn by doing. It is my belief that children can learn through the therapeutic process how to find their own internal strengths and become confident leaders free from self-doubt. I am here to assist children and teens to learn valuable coping skills to build healthy thinking patterns and be confident in utilizing these skills within their all areas of their lives. For Adolescents, it is difficult to find a safe place in discussing the struggles involved in being a teenager. Even under the best circumstances, adolescence can be a time of turmoil and difficult changes. I thrive in working with teenagers and young adults who find themselves stalled, undergoing a wide range of emotional, behavioral, academic, and/or relational difficulties. I have worked extensively with children and adolescents and understand how important it is for them to know their therapist is there to support them.
In regard to parenting, it is natural to have questions about how your children is developing and whether your child or adolescent is experiencing symptoms that impact their ability to function in a healthy way. Perhaps there has been changes in your child’s mood or behavior and you are unsure how to handle it. Whether these issues are recent developments or more long-standing concerns, help and healing can come from therapy. Therapy can help ensure that current issues don’t become more serious, enduring problems as children/adolescents get older. I help parents move from feeling concerned and frustrated to optimistic and empowered. Through child/adolescent therapy, I aim to incorporate parenting into the process to ensure the whole family is connected and growing together.
